Ableton Metronome Sound Download

This is a short tutorial on how to change the audio files used for Live’s metronome to whatever want!

The Process of changing Live’s metronome’s samples. Pick two samples you want. One for the first step and one for the interval steps. Next, go the the following location on a PC or the Mac equivalent. C: ProgramData Ableton Live 9 Suite Resources Misc Metronome Samples. Download soundflower. Send your Live output to soundflower, and then select soundflower as an input. Then record with the metronome on. Or use a microphone. Or I'm sure the audio file for the metronome sound is availble in the macOS.app package or somewhere on a Windows machine. I can get the metronome to sound during record in but id like to get ableton to sound off the metronome during play how do i do this?? Everything is set up i have have the volume knob all the way up max near the master it sounds during count in but wont sound during play.hmm can someone help me get it to work during play??

Sometimes the sounds of a open and closed hats feel a bit better than Live’s default metronome audio samples. Luckily, there is a simple way to change the sounds that are used for the down and up beats. We can also make sure to save the originals if we ever want to go back to the way things were 😉

Make sure to copy the two file names to make sure you don’t mess them up as they need to be labeled properly for Live to recognize them.

  • Metronome.wav
  • MetronomeUp.wav

Now, you can add something of a marker to the two original files. ORIGMetronomeUp.wav for example.

Finally, simply drop the two new files into the folder and change their names to the original file names. Open up live and listen to that new customized metronome in all its glory!!
